I really recommend that providers list their programs in as many on-line directories as possible. Parents do pretty much everything from work to play to shopping on-line so, of course, they are also looking for child care on-line. Though every provider should have a website to promote their business, even if you do have one, unless you are listed in these directories, parents will never find your website in search engines.
I want to invite you to list your family child care program on www.searchingforchildcare.com. This directory allows providers nation-wide to list their child care businesses. Parents can then search for providers by location, language, ages served, hours of operation, etc.
It is free for providers to promote their programs on www.searchingforchildcare.com To list your program, click here and then just click on the “List Your Child Care Program” tab. Be sure to fill in the program features box! This is where you sell your program.
Many family child care associations are now offering on-line provider directories or listings as a benefit for their members. If you are not already a member, I strongly encourage you to join your local family child care association today!
I am working on compiling a directory of family child care associations, including links to associations’ websites. so that parents also have access to the provider listings on association websites, increasing a provider’s chances of being seen.
The association directory is available to providers and parents here.
